When I think of family I also think of the food that feels like home. At all of my family holiday dinners we make Traditional Newfie Dressing. Since I couldn't eat it at Christmas due to my SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) and Histamine Intolerance I thought...there must be a way I can recreate my favourite Newfie holiday dish! This is gluten free, grain free, low carb and sugar free. 👩🍳INGREDIENTS👩🍳
1/2 cup Pilling Foods organic coconut flour 1/2 Tsp Pink Himilayan Sea Salt (BUY HERE) 1 Tsp Pepper 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup ghee butter (BUY HERE) 2 tbsp Swerve Sweetner (BUY HERE) 4 eggs + 2 egg whites 1 drop Young Living lemon essential oil (BUY HERE) 1 onion chopped 2 tbsp Savory (I may have added more) (BUY HERE) 1/4 cup water 3 clove Garlic chopped or minced DIRECTIONS First make a coconut loaf 🍞Preheat oven 350F and line a 4x8 bread pan with parchment paper 🍞In a bowl mix coconut flour, salt and baking powder and set aside. 🍞Beat Ghee and swerve with a hand held blender. Then add eggs, egg whites and lemon oil. 🍞Add dry and wet ingredients together and beat until batter starts to thicken. 🍞Pour batter into the bread pan and smooth top. 🍞Bake in the oven for 1 hour and then take out to rest. Then make the dressing 🍞Cut bread into slices and then small cubes. Place on a pan and toast in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes. 🍞Melt 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan on the stove with onions and garlic. 🍞Take the toasted coconut bread and mix in bowl with savory, pepper and salt, then place in pan with onion and garlic. Add some water a tbsp at a time to make it moist not wet. Infuse the foods together! 🍞Alternative is to mix in the onion, ghee and garlic after its cooked to the bread mixture then place in a casserole dish in the oven.
