It's that time of year where germs are spreading like wildfire! Think of all the germs we come into contact with on a daily basis, from work, restaurants, the kids at school or public transportation. It starts with a tickle in your throat or the sniffles, next thing you know your whole family is down for the count! If you have browsed the sad cough drop and throat lozenges section at the drug store, you may be wishing there was one with more natural ingredients. Most of them are made with refined sugar or artificial sweeteners, along with a list of additives which are usually unpronounceable. Maybe you would love to have an alternative options with organic ingredients that are safe for everyone in your family! This is a tried and true recipe for a Homemade Lozenges made with natural ingredients like raw honey which is known to help suppress coughing and immune boosting coconut oil you can’t go wrong with this natural alternative! Don't be fooled by the 'honey' flavoured cough drops in the store, these are created from real honey, no sweeteners and essential oils for internal use. If you can put some time aside these are reasonably easy to make!
WHY THIEVES? The “Four thieves” remedy is based on an ancient formulation originating from Europe with time spanning from 1413-1722. Due to its touted protective benefits, herbalists have passed along its recipe for hundreds of years. The legend states that a combination of various herbs, most often cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary, clove, and lemon as protecting four robbers from contracting the plague in France while rummaging through the houses of the infected sufferers. Their freedom was won by revealing to the King that the herbal vinegar, which they drank and sprinkled on themselves every two hours, had been their saving grace. Thieves Essential Oil is a blend of essential oils Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Clove and Lemon. Although there are different variations of this recipe I have posted this one below. You also need to remember that not all essential oils are created equal. I only use Young Living oils for any recipes because they are approved for internal use and the integrity behind their seed to seal promise. There are also different dilutions based on who these lozenges are for. This recipe can be used for children. I suggest buying a gumdrop mold and dropper for the lozenges or you can place drops on parchment paper. If you don't have all of these oils, don't stress! Thieves along is a power house on its own and if you have the Premium Starter kit, you will have two of these oils and can combine copiaba! WHAT YOU NEED
