Amanda's Avocado BrowniesAvocado Brownies...say what? Doesn't sound appealing does it? Well these brownies are amazing and the best part is that they are gluten, nut, grain and dairy free, keto friendly and no sugar added! Avocado Brownies...say what? Doesn't sound appealing does it? Well these brownies are amazing and the best part is that they are gluten, grain and dairy free, keto friendly and no sugar added! I use the ultimate sugar replacement Swerve which is also low carb! on top.
These brownies are an indulgent guilt free treat! Did you know that the nutrition in an average brownie is: 170 Calories, 26g carbs and 17g sugar or have you ever had a brownie at Starbucks? Nutritional value on those are: 410 calories, 46g carbs, 30g sugars! This is not to mention the partially hydrogenated oil and artificial flavor. Unless you’re a fan or clogged arteries, heart attacks and other cardiovascular ailments, stay away from the hydrogenated stuff. This fact is bordering on common knowledge at this point. As for the artificial flavor, it’s there to tell you that the chocolate-like flavor your tongue thinks it’s eating is not from anything resembling a cocoa bean or from the cacao tree; it’s just more fake garbage made by your old friend, Mr. Scientist in a lab coat.
I know that it's so much easier to just take a box of brownie mix or buy ready made desserts at the store, but do you really know what you're putting in your body? They use bleached flour...and it's exactly that 'bleached'. So if you like eating bleach, fake chemical “chocolate” flavor and oil that’s infused with hydrogen and converted to a solid fat that sits in your arteries, then crack an egg, stir in your toxic powder and whip up a batch of Boxed Brownies. Otherwise, move on and make healthier choices! If I wanted to each bleach I could pick up a bottle of some cleaner! By the way I swiched all my cleaners to natural chemical free cleaners (Thieves Cleaner) Find peace of mind that baking this recipe is organic, healthy and still delicious! For those living the ketogenic lifestyle or live with diabetes, these are a great low carb subsitute with only 5.2g carbs. You also get to fulfill that sweet tooth you have without eating sugar. I use Swerve in these brownies because it's a great, all natural alternative to sugar. Swerve is a combination of erythritol that looks, tastes and measures just like sugar. It’s great for baking, has zero calories and no after taste. If you suffer from gut health issues I also recommend this sweetner as it never causes me any upset. I suffered from small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Links to buy items for recipe on amazon below. Line a 9 inch pan with a circle of parchment or just make sure you coat it with the ghee well. I used a springform pan to make this recipe. 2 In a large mixing bowl, blend together the eggs, honey and vanilla extract. 3 Slowly blend in the almond flour, cocoa powder and swerve sweetner. 4 Optional: Add a handful of Stevia Chocolate Chips in batter. 5 Finally, blend in the baking soda. 6 Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until center is set and test with a toothpick until it comes out clean. Bake in the over for 30 minutes 7 Cool the cake until it reaches room temperature. 8 While the brownies are baking lets make the avocado icing. Ensure your avocados are very ripe at room temperature. Peel and remove pit. 9 Place all ingredients in bowl and blend or using a food processor. I used a handheld blender. I added sweetner and tasted it until it was what I wanted. 10 Put in the fridge until cake is ready to ice. 11 Optional, you can use Krisda Stevia Chocolate Chips to sprinkle
